Volunteer Spotlight: Meet Teresa!

This week, we are celebrating Teresa, a dedicated ICO volunteer who has been giving her time and heart to our organization for the past two years! 💙

For Teresa, volunteering isn’t just about lending a helping hand — it’s about truly making a difference. She finds fulfillment in connecting one-on-one with clients, listening to their stories, and doing her part to support those in need. This experience has given her a deeper understanding of the foundational needs in our community, motivating her to be part of meaningful change.

Teresa believes that everyone should volunteer in some way to gain perspective on different walks of life. For her, this work keeps her humble and reminds her of the power of community.

Though she became a homeowner in 2013, Teresa made the Outer Banks her permanent home just three years ago. We’re so grateful that she chose to share her time and compassion with ICO!
