Volunteer Spotlight: Meet Joan!

This week, we are thrilled to highlight Joan, one of our dedicated volunteers at ICO! Joan joined our team in October and has been making a meaningful impact ever since.

Inspired by Teresa and other volunteers, Joan felt drawn to ICO and the opportunity to give back. What she loves most about volunteering here is the one-on-one connections — listening to people’s stories, offering support, and making a real difference in their lives.

A resident of the Outer Banks since 2012, Joan is no stranger to community service. She devotes much of her time to volunteering and especially enjoys spending her Wednesdays at ICO, helping those in need.
