URP 2024 (Urgent Repair Program)
Public Notice:
Interfaith Community Outreach, Inc. has been awarded $264,000 by the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency (NCHFA) under the 2024 cycle of the Urgent Repair Program (URP) to assist residents in the following counties of Dare and Currituck.
- The URP program finances emergency home repairs to assist homeowners who are elderly, persons with disabilities, or have a special need whose incomes are below 50% of the median for the area.
- Only housing conditions that pose an imminent threat to their life and or safety of occupants of the dwelling unit or accessibility modifications and other repairs necessary to prevent displacement will be performed under the program.
- One or two critical problems may be repaired but the entire house is not addressed.
Homeowners will receive an unsecured deferred, interest -free loan forgiven at a rate of $3,000 per year until the principal balance is reduced to zero. The maximum amount of the loan available is $12,000.
This program is sponsored by the Interfaith Community Outreach, Inc. with funds provided by the NC Housing Trust fund.

Applications will only be accepted on a first come basis until the funding is depleted. Proof of home ownership and household income will be required.
