Code of Conduct / Confidentiality Pledge
Code of Conduct
Hereafter known as
The Rules
Do no harm
– Respect the dignity and humanity of all with who we associate. Withhold judgment; educate and work to prevent harm being done.
Work until the job is done
– “If a job is first begun, never leave it ‘til it’s done.” Work together as a team. Expect to be a participant in all activities and programs. Don’t leave a fellow staff member/volunteer working alone unless you ask if there’s anything you can do to help. Develop a work ethic that is not bound to traditional structured schedule.
Protect Interfaith Community Outreach, Inc. and each other
– Disagree and express opinions inside the organization, but speak with one voice to the community. Present a positive image; work to solve complaints and problems. Maintain a high level of professionalism. Remember and practice our mission: “Interfaith Community Outreach, Inc. promotes a safe and compassionate community.”
Be kind
– Go the extra mile to say thank you - especially to volunteers, co-workers and supporters. Look for the good in every person and every situation. Take the high road. Go the extra mile to defuse conflict.
Confidentiality Pledge
Staff and volunteers agree not to reveal the identity or identifying details of ICO clients and partners to protect their safety and dignity. When in contact with other individuals and agencies that are providing support to our clients or programs of the Interfaith Community Outreach, Inc. information will be shared with express permission of the client unless it is a matter of eminent danger to the client or another individual.
I have read the code of conduct and the pledge of confidentiality. I understand and I agree to abide by the policies set forth.
